Mr. Lamar Alton Garrett
Memorial services for Mr. Lamar Alton Garrett will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at James F. Webb Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Garrett officiating.
Mr. Garrett, of Meridian, passed from this life into the next on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Lamar loved to cut his grass and sit out on his back porch and enjoy the comfort of the sunshine. He was an avid reader and would read just about anything but especially loved reading a good mystery.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Garrett; Children, Butch (Melba) Garrett, Steve (Diane) Garrett, and Roy (Debbie) Garrett; Sister, Betty Faye (Billy Ray) McCarra; Brothers, Roy S. (Sharlene) Garrett and Leon (Beverly) Garrett; Sister in law, Yvonne Garrett; Grandchildren, Steven Garrett, Lamar (Becky) Garrett, Alyse (Demetris) Surles, Megan Garrett, and Dustin Garrett; Nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memories : L.A. could recall just about every word of every song that he heard of the fifties rock n roll period in the fifties . We shared many good times together during our teen years ! I can still see L.A. combing his duck tails hair style back with his always available comb . He and Terry Morgan and Duck White and myself share many mem0ries of riding on 8 th st to Franks the Spot Gibson Drive in and East end café May God rest his soul in eternal peace .
