Services for Mrs. Bobbie Jean Lackey Knight will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at graveside with Bro. Kenneth Owen, Bro. Jim Rickles, and Bro. Marcus Finch officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Knight, 91, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Aldersgate Assisted Living Center. Mrs. Knight was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School and was a member and director of their WMU for many years. She graduated from Dixie Highway School. She married Lois Melvin Knight and went on to work in several secretarial positions, one being Tatum Personnel Service. Mrs. Knight also worked as a teacher's aide at Northeast Elementary School. She loved working with children. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking and most of all being with children and grandchildren. She taught her children the love of family and friends but most of all the love she had for her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her two daughters, Rhonda Knight Lyles (Jim) and Kim Knight Rushing (Brady); Grandchildren, Matthew Rushing (Jessica), Kellie Rushing, Jennifer Lyles Gray (Brian); and Five Great Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lois Melvin Knight; her parents, Patrick Henry Lackey and his wife Ollie Collier Lackey; and by 10 brothers and sisters; and a niece and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Mt. Gilead WMU, Gideons International, or the Chapel Fund at Aldersgate Assisted Living.
