Charles Clark

December 20, 1926 — October 12, 2019

Funeral services for Charles Clark will be held Tuesday, October 15th, 1:00 p.m., at James F. Webb Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Johnson and Rev. Jim Gordon officiating. Interment will be held at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Clark, 92, of Meridian, passed away Saturday at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

H was born on December 20, 1926 to Rev. Joel A. Clark and Olga Carlson Clark in Stonewall, MS.

He served as a Navy Seabee during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. He worked as a mechanic in Meridian at Milton Supply and C&D Wrecking Yard before going to work at James River Corp where he retired after 34 years. Charles married the love of his life “Baby Elaine” on February 10, 1952 whom he still held hands with his homegoing. A man who took care of his family by praying, supporting, and loving beyond measure. He was a Godly man, with a humble heart whose tears would flow anytime he talked about the Lord’s goodness. He has moved to his Heavenly home where his heart has longed for especially these last few years of physical struggle. We will miss him saying The Lord’s Prayer in Swedish which was taught to him by his Grandma and Grandpa Carlson from Sweden.

He was a member of Cathedral Assembly of God Church where he served as a deacon. He loved gospel music and played his steel guitar beautifully at church and sang. He also loved camping and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elaine Flowers Clark; daughters, Michelle Levine and husband Danny and Kathy Robinson and husband Rick; grandchildren, Jason Cooper, Laurel Ethridge, Charlie Robinson (Gina), Kim Boles, Brett Holloway (Elizabeth), and Alex Levine; eight great grandchildren and several cherished nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parent, Rev. Joel A. Clark and Olga Clark; brother, Don A.A. Clark; and sister, Freida Harmon.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
