Julia Rush

Services for Mrs. Julia Rush will be held at James F. Webb Funeral Home on Friday, May 21st, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m., followed by her burial at Magnolia Cemetery, with Rev. Ron Leonard of Jones Chapel Church of God officiating.

Mrs. Julia, 89, of the Clarkdale community, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was born August 11, 1931 to Jack E. Brown Sr. and Gertrude E. Brown, of Takoma Park, Maryland.

Mrs. Rush was a faithful member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church for over 50 years, and most recently was a member of Jones Chapel Church of God. She worked at Rush Hospital in the social work department and as a Pink Lady, for over 30 years. Julia and husband, Jim, enjoyed square dancing and the Atlanta Braves. Over the years, she touched many lives and is loved by many.

Mrs. Rush is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James A. Rush Sr.; parents, Jack and Gertrude Brown; and grandson, W. Elliott Rush.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. Jack E. Brown Jr. (Jean); children, Jim Rush Jr. (Fonda), Janis Peel (Michael), June Clayton (Michael), and Jack Rush (Sheri); grandchildren, John C. Rush, Sarai Clark (Kenny), Leah Humphreys (Jim), Tara Komar (Dan), Eric Peel (Brooke), Abbey Crane (Josh), Amie Windham (Aaron), Cameron McMillan (Jonathan), and Scott Peel.

Mrs. Rush is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are John Rush, Eric Peel, Scott Peel, Kerry Clark, Dan Komar, Jim Humphreys, Aaron Windham, Jonathan McMillan, and Josh Crane. Honorary pallbearer will be John Price.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to MORA, the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency, at 4400 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS 39232 in memory of W. Elliott Rush.
