Robert Shelton

Funeral Services for Mr Robert William “RW” Shelton will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at Salem Baptist Church in Kewanee, MS with Brother Andrew Black and Brother Lamar Lifer officiating. Burial with follow at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Born January 24, 1940, Mr Shelton, age 80, of Toomsuba passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was a life-long member of Salem Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Church Treasurer. He worked for 27 years with the Lauderdale County Bus Barn. From July 2010 until November 2019, he drove a log truck for Bobby Barrett logging - a job which he was ever passionate about.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alma Shelton; children Robin Shelton and Ryan Shelton, all of Toomsuba; grandchildren Tara Leigh Shelton and Tyler William Shelton of Meridian, and Adien Vargas; sisters Jeanette Newell, Lillian Crandell, Nancy Corley, and Elizabeth Joiner; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Randall William “Randy” Shelton; parents, Robert and Sadie Shelton; and father- and mother-in-law Isaac and Amelia Shelton.

The family requests memorials be made to Gideons International or Salem Baptist church in his memory.

The family will receive friends from 9am until 11am Wednesday morning at Salem Baptist Church prior to the service.
